What is Balayage?

The word balayage is a French term meaning “to sweep.” Originally popular in France, balayage is a freehand highlighting technique which creates a more natural “sun-kissed” look. The technique offers a softer grow out and is generally a lower maintenance color than foils. A balayage is painted on piece by piece, and therefore is incredibly customizable. It also happens to be one of my favorite ways to color hair.

What is a Bond Builder?

A bond builder is your best friend if you are receiving a color service! Brazilian Bond Builder is a one-step system that can be added to your color/lightener during the services. It reattaches and builds the bonds that make up the cellular membrane complex, helping prevent the loss of cuticle and cortex cells responsible for supporting the inner structure of the hair. This breakthrough technology dramatically reduces breakage and helps prevent damage during color services, improving the overall integrity of the hair while prolonging color retention and vibrancy between appointments.

All of my color services include a bond builder in order to maintain the best integrity of your hair possible. This is non negotiable. It is incredibly important to me to keep your hair healthy during any color service.

What is the b3 Demi-Permanent Treatment?

Brazilian Bond Builder Demi-Permanent Conditioner is an innovative professional salon service that provides intensive repair and long term conditioning for extremely dry, very damaged and chemically treated hair for up to 12 washes.

b3 Demi Permanent conditioner is specifically formulated for use with b3 Brazilian Bond Builder to penetrate the hair and fuse amino acids to weakened and compromised fibers through the use of a breakthrough bond building technology. This technological advancement reconstructs and strengthens the hair from within while helping to resurface and seal the cuticle, preventing moisture loss and protecting against heat and mechanical styling as well as future damage.

What is a Keratin Express Treatment?

The Keratin Express treatment is a smoothing treatment that can be added onto any service. This treatment eliminates frizz, smooths unwanted volume, increases shine, and helps to cut your at home styling time in half. It is the perfect treatment for those who have a hard time controlling their unruly locks. It helps to seal color and allows for shinier better conditioned hair. Results last 4 - 6 weeks.

Should I wash my hair before my color appointment?

Yes & No. This answer really depends on the service you are about to receive. For instance, if your hair is freshly washed & you receive an on-scalp color service, this can irritate your scalp. The natural oils in your scalp help protect it from any irritation. In this case, I would not wash right before your appointment.

However, products like dry shampoos & tinting powders (for grey coverage) can block color from penetrating the cuticle & result in uneven color. Please do not come with these products in your hair or I cannot guarantee your color service. My best recommendation for optimal color is to wash 1-2 days before your service. This removes any product/mineral build-up you may have on your hair to prep your hair for the service.

What Shampoo & Conditioner is best to help my color last?

For best color staying results as well as healthy hair, I recommend using a professional salon quality product line. Salon products are SO worth the investment. They allow for more quality ingredients than over the counter product lines and therefore can better care for your hair. In fact, some over the counter product lines can strip color and ruin your hair’s integrity. For this reason I cannot guarantee any color service that is not maintained by professional products at home. I am always happy to make a product recommendation for you.

Can I bring my child with me to my appointment?

While I love all your little ones, I do prefer that children under 13 do not attend your service with you (unless they are receiving a service themselves). The salon is not a safe environment for children due to chemicals, hot tools, and sharp tools. This also ensures a relaxing environment for you and other guests.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please give a full 48 hour notice for cancellation or rescheduling an appointment. This allows another client to enjoy the appointment. If your appointment is canceled or no-showed within 48 hours of your appointment, you will incur a fee of 50% of the planned services.

If you need to reschedule your appointment and are outside the cancellation policy (48 hrs) you are allowed to reschedule one time within 12 weeks of your current appointment. While I understand that life and reschedules may happen, it is hard to accommodate clients who move their appointments often. If you need to reschedule an appointment more than once, you will be charged a $50 rebooking fee. In the event of frequent cancellations or reschedules I may require a prepayment for future bookings. Why do I need to pay a Booking Fee to book an appointment?

A $50 non refundable booking fee is required for all new guests upon booking. This fee must be received within 24 hours of booking, or your appointment will be cancelled. This fee will be applied towards your services on the day of, and is to ensure serious inquiries only.

I am booking in higher demand these days, and therefore cannot afford to lose time on my schedule due to last minute appointment changes. In the event of frequent cancellations or reschedules I may require prepayment for future bookings.

I have paid a New Client Booking Fee to confirm my appointment but I need to cancel or reschedule, is this money refundable?

No, the New Client Booking Fee is a non-refundable fee to secure your appointment time & ensure serious inquiries only. If you cancel or no-show your appointment your booking fee will be forfeited. The same applies for fees/prepayments required after frequent appointment changes.

However, if you need to reschedule your appointment and are outside the cancelation policy (48 hrs) you are allowed to reschedule one time within 12 weeks of your current appointment. The booking fee will still be applied to your services. If you need to reschedule more than once, the booking fee will be forfeited & you can no longer book an appointment with me.
